Locker Room Initiative

THE NEW BIRDS NEST

In the Summer of 2025, the Firebirds launched their “Locker Room Initiative”, creating a brand new, state-of-the-art, locker room for our New Hamburg Firebirds.

Since moving into the Wilmot Recreation Complex in 2007, our New Hamburg Firebirds have had the same home, the same locker room, and the same stalls. In 2024, the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) expanding roster sizes from a 23-man roster, to a 25-man roster, meaning the previous room was too small, and didn’t have enough stalls for the players. This is what began the our 2025 Locker Room Initiative.

With being a Community-Owned Team, we rely solely off of support from our Community, Fans, Sponsors, and Alumni. We were astonished by the amount of support received from our Community, and our Alumni in this initiative, and we are extremely proud to say that we ended up raising over $50,000 from our Alumni, to be able to make this project happen.

Our last thank you goes out to the two individuals that made this dream, become a reality. At the beginning of the 2025 Summer, this started as a vision, an idea, and these two individuals are a huge reason that this happened.
