Mission Statement

The mission of the New Hamburg Firebirds Jr. C Hockey Club is to provide an exciting and entertaining brand of hockey while promoting the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and community pride.

The organization is committed to building a competitive team with high goals and expectations; however, success will not be measured solely by wins and losses. True success will be defined by the team’s ability to perform to its full potential while demonstrating strong character, dedication, and team spirit both on and off the ice.

The New Hamburg Firebirds strive to maintain a strong relationship with the New Hamburg Hockey Association (NHHA), with the goal of developing and advancing local players through the organization. While maintaining a competitive roster may require the addition of players from surrounding minor hockey systems, including the Kitchener-Waterloo region, local players will always be given every opportunity to earn a position on the team through their skill, commitment, attitude, and sportsmanship.

Final player selections remain the responsibility of the coaching and management staff, while the Junior Executive will continue to support the organization’s commitment to local player development and community involvement. Maintaining strong local representation is essential to preserving the support of our fans, sponsors, and the New Hamburg community.

The New Hamburg Firebirds have always had the philosophy to develop and advance local, New Hamburg Hockey Association (NHHA) players, through the organization. We are extremely proud that we have so many local, NHHA Graduate's, with our organization on a yearly basis.

In the last 5 seasons, we have had 17 local talents on our roster.
